Taking place on July 4 in Cascais, the Global Ocean Cascais offers a variety of distances, including 300 m, 1.5 km, 3 km and relay formats.

With the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop and one of Portugal’s most iconic coastal settings, this event is a great choice for swimmers looking to experience open water racing in a spectacular location.

XX Travessia Bessone Basto

Held on July 5 in Oeiras, this event is one of the traditional open water swimming races in the Lisbon region.

The 1,000 m distance makes it accessible to swimmers who are new to open water competitions while still providing an enjoyable challenge for more experienced participants.

12th Mora Open Water Swimming Event

On July 12, the beautiful Açude do Gameiro in Mora hosts another edition of this well-established event.

With distances ranging from 400 m to 1.5 km and 3 km, it offers options for swimmers with different experience levels in a relaxed and scenic summer environment.

For athletes seeking a true endurance challenge, this is one of the highlights of the Portuguese swimming calendar.

VI Meeting de Águas Abertas da Goma

The Barragem das Andorinhas hosts this event on August 1.

Beyond the sporting challenge, these races offer the opportunity to discover some of Portugal’s most beautiful coastal and inland locations while connecting with a growing community of swimmers.
