Half Marathon São João das Lampas
The 48th São João das Lampas Half Marathon returns on 12 September 2026, continuing one of Portugal’s longest-running road races. Organised by the Grupo de Dinamização Desportiva with the support of the Parish Council of São João das Lampas and Sintra Municipality, the event combines tradition, community spirit and competitive road running through the scenic countryside of Sintra.
Participants can choose between the official Half Marathon (21.1 km) and the Meia Rampa (13 km), a shorter race that follows the first section of the half marathon course. Both events start and finish in São João das Lampas, taking runners through several surrounding villages on rolling rural roads.
With electronic chip timing, multiple aid stations, team classifications and prizes across numerous age groups, the event welcomes both experienced runners and those looking to tackle a shorter road race in a friendly and well-established atmosphere.
