Event summary
The UCVNF Cycling Training Championship is a cycling event for children aged 2 to 16, taking place from May to September 2026 in Jesufrei, Avidos, and Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal. It features three races on different terrains: a mostly dirt BTT/XCO circuit in Jesufrei, an asphalt road race in Avidos, and a mixed urban race in Vila Nova de Famalicão’s Devesa park.
The championship is open to all children who enjoy and can ride a bike, with categories from Sub-5 to Sub-17 based on age. It aims to promote cycling as a sport and healthy activity for young people, offering varied experiences across different terrains to develop skills and confidence.
Each race awards medals to the top three boys and girls per category, with trophies for the top three overall scorers after all three races and participation diplomas for those completing the full championship. The event encourages family and community involvement in a festive atmosphere.

Registration deadline: Registrations open until 18:00 on the Thursday before each race
Surface types:
• Jesufrei: 99% dirt terrain with some obstacles (BTT/XCO)
• Avidos: fully asphalt road circuit
• Vila Nova de Famalicão: mixed terrain urban race
Race routes: Closed circuits, adapted distances and difficulty per age category
Prizes: Medals for top 3 per gender and category per race, trophies for top 3 overall scorers per category after three races, diplomas for participants completing all three races
