The 5 Cumes de Barcelos returns on 27 September 2026 with two mountain bike marathon challenges that showcase the highest points of Barcelos municipality. Organised by Amigos da Montanha, the event offers a demanding 75 km marathon and a shorter 47 km half marathon, combining physical challenge with spectacular landscapes.
Starting and finishing in the centre of Barcelos, both routes take riders across the region’s iconic hills and countryside, featuring a mix of climbing, fast descents and scenic rural trails. The event welcomes competitive mountain bikers of different levels, with dedicated categories for paracycling and E-Bikes.
With professional organisation, electronic timing, multiple starting boxes and full logistical support, the 5 Cumes de Barcelos has established itself as one of the region’s leading MTB marathon events.
