Event summary
The BTT Eco Rota do Ave – GPS is a non-competitive mountain bike event taking place on October 10, 2026, in Guimarães, Portugal. It offers two route options: a 55 km course with 1000 meters of elevation gain and an 85 km course with 1900 meters of elevation gain, both featuring medium to medium-high technical and physical difficulty.
Open to participants aged 16 and older (with written authorization required for minors on the shorter route), the event emphasizes leisure, autonomy, and sustainability. Riders navigate independently using GPS, enjoying the natural landscapes along the Ave River and its tributaries, with a focus on environmental awareness and low-impact organization.
Starting and finishing at the Laboratório da Paisagem in Creixomil, Guimarães, the event promotes a connection between sport, nature, and green mobility, aligning with Guimarães’ candidacy as European Green Capital 2026.
