Event summary
The 45th Corrida das Fogueiras is a classic nighttime road race held on June 27, 2026, in Peniche, Portugal. The event features a 15K race, a 5K walk called Corrida das Fogueirinhas, and a 500m kids’ run, all starting at Avenida do Porto de Pesca with finishes at Marina de Peniche or the same location for the kids.
This race is unique for its nighttime setting illuminated by strategically placed bonfires along the course, creating a festive and communal atmosphere that culminates in a traditional sardine feast hosted by the community and municipality. The event welcomes senior and veteran runners for the 15K race, with classifications by overall, age groups, and teams.
The race includes organized start boxes by running pace to ensure a smooth experience for all athletes, from elite to recreational runners, and offers a family-friendly environment with the kids’ and walk segments.
