The 20th Travessia António Bessone Basto is an open water swimming event taking place on July 5, 2026, in Oeiras, Portugal. The race offers two distances: 1000 meters and 2500 meters, with different start locations and a common finish at Oeiras Marina – Porto Recreio de Oeiras.

The 1000m open race is open to all swimmers aged 14 and above, regardless of federation affiliation, while the 2500m open race is for licensed open water and masters swimmers aged 14 and above, as well as invited swimmers and triathlon federation members. There is also an official 2500m race exclusive to swimmers registered in the 2026 National Open Water Circuit.

The event honors one of Portugal’s greatest active athletes and is organized by the Municipality of Oeiras in collaboration with local swimming associations under the Portuguese Swimming Federation regulations.
