The II Trail Cidade de Faro takes place on 1 November 2026 in Estoi, in the municipality of Faro. Organised by Associação Temivels d’Atalaia in partnership with the Municipality of Faro, the event combines competitive trail running with a recreational walk through the natural and rural landscapes surrounding the village.
Participants can choose between a 32 km Long Trail, a 21 km Trail Sprint, a 13 km Mini Trail and a 10 km walk. The routes mainly follow rural paths, natural trails and forest tracks, with occasional sections on public roads. Depending on the chosen distance, runners may encounter uneven ground, steeper gradients and more technical sections.
The Long Trail has approximately 1,600 metres of elevation gain, while the Trail Sprint includes around 700 metres. The Mini Trail and walk offer shorter alternatives, with approximately 580 and 200 metres of climbing respectively. Along the way, participants can expect views towards the Algarve coastline and the surrounding hills.
The three trail races are competitive and include official classifications, while the walk is recreational. The programme also includes electronic timing for competitive participants, aid stations, medical support, a finisher medal, an official T-shirt and post-race food.
