Camacha Trail
Event summary
The Camacha Trail is a trail running event taking place on August 2, 2026, in the parish of Camacha, Santa Cruz, Madeira. It features three circular races: the Long Trail (26 km, 1400 m elevation gain), the Sprint Trail (15 km, 612 m elevation gain), and the Youth Trail (9 km, 461 m elevation gain).
The event is part of the Regional Trail Madeira Circuit 2025/2026 organized by AARAM. The races are open to various age categories, with minimum ages of 20 for the Long Trail, 18 for the Sprint, and youth categories for the Youth Trail. The Youth Trail also serves as the regional championship for young trail runners.
The courses start and finish at Largo Conselheiro Aires de Ornelas in Camacha and offer challenging mountainous terrain with significant elevation changes. The event promotes respect for nature and fair play, with a festive atmosphere including a communal lunch and awards ceremony.
