Event summary
The Sintra Trail Monte da Lua takes place on July 11, 2026, in Sintra, Lisbon, offering a unique night-time trail experience through one of Portugal’s most iconic UNESCO World Heritage landscapes.
Organized by the Municipality of Sintra and HMS Sports, the event features a competitive 10 km Trail race, a 10 km Long Walk and a 5.5 km Family Walk. Starting and finishing at Largo Rainha D. Amélia, next to the National Palace of Sintra, participants explore the historic heart of Sintra through streets, stairways, alleys, gardens, viewpoints, monuments and forest trails.
The route passes several of Sintra’s most famous landmarks, including Parque da Liberdade, Palácio da Pena, Castelo dos Mouros, Vila Sassetti and Quinta da Regaleira, creating a memorable night adventure that combines sport, history and nature.
