Event summary
The Rios Ibéricos Triathlon | Duathlon takes place on July 12, 2026, between Entre-os-Rios and Castelo de Paiva, bringing together multiple triathlon and duathlon formats in one of Portugal’s most scenic river settings.
Organized by the municipalities of Castelo de Paiva and Penafiel with technical support from the Portuguese Triathlon Federation, the event includes the Portuguese Triathlon Cup in the Standard distance, alongside Sprint and Super Sprint triathlon and duathlon races, as well as an Aquabike competition. Athletes swim at the confluence of the Douro and Tâmega rivers before cycling through regional roads and finishing with a run through the streets of Castelo de Paiva.
With options ranging from beginner-friendly Super Sprint races to the full Olympic-distance Triathlon Cup event, Rios Ibéricos offers a complete multisport experience for athletes of different levels and ambitions.
