The municipalities of Loures and Odivelas are organizing the Loures-Odivelas-Loures Half Marathon for the fourth time on September 20, 2026. Under the slogan “Together for Sports,” the two municipalities are joining forces to revive a track and field event that took place in the 1980s and 1990s and connected the two cities. Coinciding with European Sports Week, the initiative also includes a 10km run, a 5km walk, and a kids’ race for the little ones the day before.
We officially announce that the Loures-Odivelas-Loures Half Marathon has been certified by World Athletics with the international measurement certificate. This prestigious recognition attests to the accuracy of the course distance, in accordance with the rigorous international standards of the world’s leading athletics body.
Obtaining the international measurement certificate is a significant milestone. This seal of quality not only guarantees participants that the race meets the standards required for high-level competitions, but also opens the door to the ratification of records and results for national and international rankings.

The Centenary Run and Walk of the Silveira Parish (1926–2026) is a commemorative event taking place on September 20, 2026, in Silveira, Portugal. It features a 10 km competitive run and a 10 km non-competitive walk, both designed to promote physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and community spirit.
This event is open to all participants, including minors with authorization, and includes official timing and classification for the run. The 5th Douro Bridges Porto & Gaia Open Water takes place on September 20, 2026, on the River Douro, between Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. The event is part of the XIX National Open Water Circuit 2025–2026, organized under the Portuguese Swimming Federation (FPN).
Held in river conditions under the iconic Douro bridges, the competition features a 4000m official Circuit race for Open Water (AA) and Masters AA swimmers. The race contributes to the national ranking standings and offers a unique urban open water experience

The Aquae Brunheiro Trail Running 2026 is a trail running event taking place on September 19 and 20, 2026, in Chaves, Portugal. The races start in the village of Vilar de Nantes and finish in the city of Chaves, traversing the trails of Serra do Brunheiro.
Participants can choose from several distances: Ultra Trail (~48 km), Trail Longo (~30 km), Trail Curto (~21 km), Mini Trail (~12 km), Kids Trail (various distances by age), and a 12 km Caminhada (walk). Penafiel Run’26 is a running event scheduled for September 20, 2026, in Penafiel, Portugal. It features a 10 km race for athletes aged 18 and over (with minors from 16 allowed with written authorization) and a 5 km mini run/walk open to all ages without competition or timing.
The 10 km race takes place on the main streets of Penafiel, starting and finishing at Largo Conde Torres Novas (Campo da Feira). The event supports a charitable cause, providing monetary aid to the three local fire brigades.
Participants compete in various age categories with individual and team classifications, and prizes include medals, t-shirts, and monetary awards. The mini run/walk offers a family-friendly, non-competitive atmosphere.

A Junta de Freguesia de Aveiras de Cima and Câmara Municipal de Azambuja are organizing on September 20, 2026, the 2nd edition of the “Trail do Vinho D’Aveiras”. The event is part of the “Circuito do Torricado – Azambuja Trail Running” of 2026,
being the third event of the Circuit.
This event consists of two competitive races, one being the 22km Trail and the other, the 13km Short Trail. There is also a non-competitive walking walk, with an approximate distance of 10km.
