The Pisão Extreme 2026 is a skyrunning challenge through the dramatic Serra da Arada, organized by SpotCriativo Eventos with support from the São Pedro do Sul Municipality. Taking place on October 3–4, 2026, this event offers five circular trail courses, all under the auspices of the Portuguese Federation of Camping and Mountaineering (FCMP).

With distances ranging from 4 km to 65 km, Pisão Extreme caters to a wide spectrum of athletes — from beginners testing vertical gains to ultra-endurance mountain runners. Each course delivers rugged ascents, technical terrain, and breathtaking natural scenery.

    • PEX L – 65 km, +6500 m: 07:00 – Time Limit: 20h

    • PEX S – 25 km, +2200 m: 08:30 – Time Limit: 7h

    • PEX XS – 16 km, +1000 m: 09:00 – Time Limit: 5h

Location: Serra da Arada, starting/finishing near São Pedro do Sul

Course Format: Circular mountain trails, marked and mapped

Age Limits:

  • KM Vertical: 14+

  • XS (16K) & S (25K): 18+

  • M (35K) & L (65K): 23+

Timing: Electronic chip + GPS tracking; mandatory visible bibs

Registration Deadline: September 27, 2026 (or until slots are full)

Participant Cap: 750 total across all distances

Drop Bags & Checkpoints: Checkpoints and aid stations marked in the Athlete Dossier; drop-outs only allowed at official control points

Mandatory Gear (varies by course and weather conditions):

  • 1L liquid container

  • Thermal blanket

  • Rain jacket

  • Headlamp (and backup)

  • Phone, whistle, bandage

Surface: Mountain trails — technical, steep, and potentially exposed to weather elements (fog, cold, rain, wind)

Insurance: Accident + liability insurance provided (includes co-payment clause)

Cut-offs: Strict enforcement; failure results in disqualification

Traffic Note: No road closures — athletes must follow pedestrian safety rules on public roads
