Maratona do Funchal

The 5th Trail Manuelino is a trail running event scheduled for February 7, 2027, in Abiul, Pombal, Portugal. It features competitive trail races of 32 km, 18 km (Trail Sprint), and 12 km (MiniTrail), as well as a 12 km walking event and a Trail Kids race.

The event is open to athletes aged 18 and over for the trail races, with younger participants allowed under specific conditions and responsibility terms. TAUT – Terras do Ancião Ultra Trail 2027 is a trail running event held from February 14 to 20, 2027, in Ansião, Portugal. It features multiple race distances including an epic 500 km special edition called The Ancient Quest, as well as 150 miles, 100 miles, 110 km, 62 km, 35 km, 20 km, and 13 km races.

The event is open to athletes aged 18 and over for most races, with a youth category for ages 16 and above in the Mini Trail. TAUT serves as the official Portuguese qualifier for the Endurance Mountain Trail World Championship and offers points for TORX eXperience, UTMB Index, ITRA, ATRP, ADAL, and the Municipal Circuit of Ansião.

The races traverse breathtaking landscapes across 22 municipalities and 70 parishes, combining coastal and inland terrain with significant elevation gains. The Ancient Quest 500K is a survival and navigation challenge with a butterfly loop format, including solo and relay options, supported by extensive logistics and aid stations. The event offers a unique endurance experience with a festive and competitive atmosphere.

Terra de Gigantes is an endurance ultra trail race taking place from January 14 to 17, 2027, in Portugal. The race covers a challenging distance of 303.8 km with 10,815 meters of positive elevation gain, starting at Torre in Serra da Estrela and finishing at Nazaré.

This non-stop race requires GPS navigation and semi-self-sufficiency, with a time limit of 74 hours. Participation is open to athletes aged 20 and above with prior experience in long-distance races of 100 km or more and GPS navigation skills. The course traverses diverse landscapes including mountain trails, historical villages, and coastal areas, offering a unique and demanding adventure.

The event features support bases along the route for rest and resupply, strict rules on external assistance, and a strong emphasis on individual endurance and responsibility. It culminates in a celebration ceremony in Nazaré, honoring all finishers and top performers.

EDP New Generation is a running event for young athletes aged 6 to 17, taking place on March 6, 2027, in Lisbon. The race distances vary from 600 meters to 2,500 meters, tailored to different age categories.

The event is part of the EDP Meia Maratona de Lisboa program and is organized by Maratona Clube de Portugal. It offers a unique opportunity for young runners to participate in official athletics competitions with free registration and a supportive atmosphere.

The race starts at 16:00 in front of the Centro Cultural de Belém – Praça do Império, with no timing system used. All participants receive an official medal and other commemorative items, fostering a festive and inclusive environment for youth athletics.
