Gaia Throwdown 2026

The Gaia Throwdown 2026 is a functional fitness competition taking place on July 11 and 12, 2026, in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. The event will be held at the Pavilhão Desportivo Municipal de Vila Nova de Gaia and features both individual and pairs competitions across multiple categories.

The competition is divided into two main formats: individual and doubles. The individual competition includes Elite and Masters categories (35+, 40+, 45+, and 50+) for both men and women, while the doubles competition includes male, female, and mixed teams.

For individual athletes, the competition consists of two stages: an online qualifier phase followed by an in-person final. The qualifier includes two workouts released on April 13, with video submissions required between April 13 and April 26. Only qualified athletes advance to the final stage.

The doubles competition takes place exclusively during the final phase, with no prior qualification required. The event brings together athletes of different performance levels and age groups, offering a competitive environment focused on strength, endurance, and skill across varied workouts.

Alongside the competition, the event offers monetary prizes for top finishers across all main categories, making it a high-level competitive experience for functional fitness athletes.
