The global fitness-hybrid phenomenon has officially arrived in Portugal. HYROX Lisbon is now confirmed for 2026, and athletes across the country — from runners to CrossFit fans — are preparing for one of the most exciting competitions of the year. The event is already listed on RaceFinder, with registrations open.

What Is HYROX?

HYROX is a unique race format that combines endurance running with functional strength workouts.
Participants complete 8 km of running, broken into intervals, each followed by a workout station such as:

  • SkiErg
  • Sled Push
  • Sled Pull
  • Burpee Broad Jumps
  • Rowing
  • Sandbag Lunges
  • Wall Balls
  • Farmer’s Carry

The result is a high-intensity challenge that tests cardiovascular fitness, strength, resilience, and pacing strategy.

Why HYROX Has Become a Global Trend

HYROX has exploded in popularity for several reasons:

  • It’s accessible to all — beginners, endurance athletes, and gym-goers
  • The format is standardized worldwide, allowing athletes to compare times
  • It encourages community and team participation
  • It offers several categories: Individual, Doubles, and Relay

It’s a competition, but with a friendly spirit that makes everyone feel part of the same challenge.
