The XXIV Triatlo Cidade de Quarteira takes place on March 28–29, 2026, in Quarteira, Portugal. The event is jointly organized by the Município de Loulé, Junta de Freguesia de Quarteira and the Federação de Triatlo de Portugal.
The competition includes three major events:
– Elite European Cup (Olympic distance)
– Junior European Cup (Sprint distance)
– Taça de Portugal (Sprint distance)
The Elite and Junior European Cup races are exclusive to licensed athletes from recognized World Triathlon member federations and accepted by World Triathlon (WT). Therefore, registration for these events is not available through RaceFinder.
All races are held in the coastal area of Quarteira, with start and finish located on Avenida Infante de Sagres, near Hotel Dom José.
The XXI Triatlo de Monte Gordo takes place on April 11 and 12, 2026, in Monte Gordo and Vila Real de Santo António, Portugal. Organized by Lusitano Triatlo Clube and the Municipality of Vila Real de Santo António with the support of the Portuguese Triathlon Federation, the event includes two main competitions: the European Elite Triathlon Cup (Sprint distance) on April 11 and the Portuguese Triathlon Cup on April 12.
The races follow the Sprint triathlon format, combining swimming in the sea, cycling on road and running along a flat coastal course. The event brings together elite international athletes as well as federated and non-federated participants competing in age group categories.
The Lidl Setúbal Triathlon is a triathlon event taking place on April 12, 2026, in Setúbal, Portugal. It features challenging distances of 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling, and 21.1 km running, designed for triathletes seeking a demanding and rewarding race.

This event perfectly embodies the spirit of swimrun, combining swimming and running through stunning landscapes.
The race offers three distances: Standard (23.6 km total with 4.4 km swimming and 19.2 km running), Sprint (15.1 km total with 3.2 km swimming and 11.9 km running), and Experience (10.8 km total with 1.2 km swimming and 9.6 km running). The courses include multiple transitions and significant elevation gains, suitable for a broad range of participants.
The event is open to all and includes a “Swimrun Kids” format to introduce younger athletes to the sport, creating a family-friendly and inclusive atmosphere. The race is supported by local partners such as the Municipality of Grândola and Clube Amiciclo Grândola, ensuring a well-organized and welcoming experience amidst unique coastal and riverine scenery.
The IV Triatlo de Moura 2026 is a triathlon event organized by the Municipality of Moura, with technical support from the Portuguese Triathlon Federation (FTP). The event takes place on April 26, 2026, in Moura, Portugal, and includes two distinct competitions.
The main race is the National Individual Middle Distance Triathlon Championship, exclusively for licensed athletes affiliated with the Portuguese Triathlon Federation. Alongside this championship, the event also features an Open Race in Standard Distance, open to both licensed and non-licensed athletes, with the option to compete individually or in relay teams.
The race unfolds across three segments: swimming at the Moura River Beach in the Alqueva reservoir, cycling between the river beach and the town of Moura, and running through the urban area of Moura. The event follows the official rules of the Portuguese Triathlon Federation and is part of the national competition calendar.
The Swimrun Tâmega is a swimrun event held on June 1 and 2, 2024, in the Tâmega region, Portugal, organized by Associação Swimrun Nós Nadamos, Nós Corremos and Paredes Aventura, with the support of the municipalities of Penafiel and Marco de Canaveses. The XXXIX Triatlo de Oeiras takes place on May 9 and 10, 2026, in Oeiras, Portugal. Organized by the Portuguese Triathlon Federation with the support of Oeiras Municipality, the event includes several national championship races in the sprint triathlon format for Elite, Junior, Cadet, Age Group and Paratriathlon athletes, as well as an Open Race in the super-sprint format. The race consists of swimming at Praia da Torre, followed by a cycling segment along the Marginal road and a running segment also along the seafront in Oeiras.
The Vila do Conde Triathlon Standard – Sunset Edition is a triathlon event taking place on May 16, 2026, along the coast of Vila do Conde. This race offers a unique experience combining sport, stunning landscapes, and the emotional backdrop of a spectacular sunset.
The event features a 1.5 km swim in the waters of Praia dos Barcos, a 40 km cycling route along the Atlantic coastal road, and a 10 km run entirely by the sea, providing a fast and challenging course with ocean views. The race is open to various age categories, including paratriathletes and multiple male and female age groups.

The Federação de Triatlo de Portugal organizes various triathlon events throughout the year, including national championships and club competitions. These events take place across different regions of Portugal, such as Algarve, Lisboa, and Madeira, offering a wide range of distances and formats suited for all athlete levels.
Open to both licensed and age group athletes, many races are integrated into national and international cups, providing competitive opportunities from grassroots to elite levels. The Lagoa Swimrun is a swimrun race held in May along the stunning Algarve coast, starting at Ermida da Senhora da Rocha and finishing in the fishing village of Ferragudo. Now in its 5th edition, it is celebrated by swimrunners as one of the best courses with fantastic swims and breathtaking coastal views that are challenging depending on wind and weather conditions.
The event offers three distance options: Standard (25.5 km total with 4.78 km swimming and 20.72 km running), Sprint (15.1 km total with 2.7 km swimming and 12.4 km running), and Experience (8.1 km total with 1.5 km swimming and 6.6 km running). The course traverses the trails of the Seven Hanging Valleys, famous as the best hiking destination in Europe, and includes iconic beaches, caves accessible only by sea, and remarkable natural formations along the way.
The race is open to all swimrunners and provides a unique opportunity to explore this magnificent coastline in springtime with water temperatures averaging 18 degrees. The atmosphere is adventurous and scenic, offering a memorable challenge through spectacular natural landscapes.
