Event summary

Celebrating its 20th edition, the Ultra Trail Serra da Freita (UTSF) is the oldest trail running event in Portugal, taking place on June 27–28, 2026, in Arouca, traversing the stunning and rugged Serra da Freita. This iconic race is known for its raw emotion, steep ascents, technical trails, and breathtaking landscapes through the municipalities of Arouca, Vale de Cambra, and São Pedro do Sul.

With five trail distances and a non-competitive walk, the UTSF is designed for seasoned trail runners and adventurous spirits alike. It’s part of the ATRP National Circuit, and its races are expected to award ITRA and UTMB points (to be confirmed). This event blends a competitive atmosphere with community spirit, offering an unforgettable experience whether you’re racing the 100K or hiking the 12K.

    Egas Moniz Race 2026

    The 3rd Corrida do Egas Moniz is a running event taking place on June 28, 2026, in Penafiel – Paço de Sousa, Portugal. It features two race distances: 5 km and 10 km, plus a 5 km solidarity walk open to all ages and non-competitive.

    The races are open to male and female participants in various age categories from 18 years and older, including senior and veteran divisions. The event is designed as a festive sports celebration, promoting health and quality of life, with part of the registration fees supporting local volunteer firefighters and the organizing football club.

    All races start and finish near the Mosteiro do Salvador de Paço de Sousa, offering a community-centered atmosphere with awards, medals, technical t-shirts, and a post-race snack for all participants. The event also includes team awards and encourages clubs and associations to participate.
