Regional Championship of Duathlon Relay Teams
Event summary
The Regional Duathlon Relay Championship and the 8th Young Duathlon of Santana will take place on February 7, 2026, in the Faial parish of Santana municipality. This duathlon event features a Super-Sprint distance relay race and adapted distances for youth categories.
The relay teams consist of three members from the same club, either all male or all female, competing in a Super-Sprint duathlon. The youth competition includes categories for Benjamins, Infants, and Initiates with distances adapted to each age group. Participation is exclusive to licensed athletes from Juveniles to Age Group 100+.
The event is organized by the Regional Triathlon Association of Madeira and the Santana City Council, with support from various local sponsors. The race route includes running and cycling segments around the Faial Balneal Complex, featuring a karting circuit and coastal roads.

• Relay Teams: Male, Female, Mixed – born 2012 or earlier
• Youth Benjamins: born 2017-2019

Course format: Relay teams of 3 athletes each complete a Super-Sprint duathlon segment; youth races with adapted distances
Race routes:
• Relay Super-Sprint: Run 2 km (2 laps of 1 km), Bike 8.1 km (3 laps of 2.71 km), Run 1 km (1 lap)
• Youth Initiates: Run 1.1 km (2 laps of 553 m), Bike 4 km (4 laps of 1 km), Run 553 m (1 lap)
• Youth Infants: Run 800 m (2 laps of 400 m), Bike 2 km (2 laps of 1 km), Run 450 m (1 lap)
• Youth Benjamins: Run 300 m (1 lap), Bike 1 km (1 lap), Run 200 m (1 lap)
Toilets and aid station placement: One aid station with water at the exit of the Transition Park during running segments; no aid station on cycling segment
Registration deadline: Registrations close on the Tuesday before the event; no new registrations accepted after this date
Prizes: Trophies for 1st place relay teams (Regional Championship), medals for top 3 mixed relay teams, trophies and medals for youth categories
Bib pick-up time and location: Secretariat opens at 14:15 on event day at Faial Balneal Complex
Timing method: Each athlete competes with their own competition chip
Surface types: Running on paved paths around Faial Balneal Complex; cycling includes karting circuit and local roads
