The Montepio Half Marathon of Cascais 2025 celebrates its 9th edition on February 8–9, set against the stunning backdrop of Cascais Bay, Portugal. Organized by HMS Sports with the support of the Cascais City Council and multiple institutional partners, the event offers four distances: the Half Marathon (21.0975 km), the 10 km Race, the 5 km Race, and the Kids’ Run, held the day before the main races.

The event welcomes athletes of all levels — from elite runners to recreational participants — in an atmosphere that is both competitive and family-friendly. The courses take runners through iconic coastal and urban landscapes, including the scenic Estrada do Guincho and Cascais Marina, combining athletic challenge with breathtaking views.

Age categories/divisions: 21.1 km & 10 km – Juniors (2006–2007), Seniors (1991–2005), V35, V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, V65, V70, V75, V80, V85, V90+; 5 km – open to all; Kids’ Run – Bambis (2019–2020), Benjamins A (2016–2018), Benjamins B (2014–2015), Infantis (2012–2013).

Start/finish locations: 21.1 km & 5 km – Passeio Dom Luís I, Cascais Bay; 10 km – Passeio Dom Luís I (start), Cascais Marina (finish); Kids’ Run – Passeio Dom Luís I, Cascais Bay.

Start times: 10 km – 09:00 (Elite, Sub 45, Sub 50, Sub 60, +60); 21.1 km – 09:30 (Elite, Sub 1h25, Sub 1h40, Sub 1h50, +1h50); 5 km – 09:30; Kids’ Run – Feb 8, 16:00.

Cut-off time: 3 hours (finish by 12:30).

Bib pick-up: Cascais Bay – Feb 6 (14:00–19:00), Feb 7 (10:00–19:00), Feb 8 (10:00–18:00).

Participant limit: 21.1 km – 4,000; 10 km – 1,000; 5 km – 1,000; Kids’ Run – 500.

Registration deadline: Feb 8, 2025 (or until sold out).

Surface type: paved urban roads.

Course format: 21.1 km & 5 km – out-and-back; 10 km – point-to-point.

Timing method: chip timing (21.1 km & 10 km); 5 km & Kids’ Run – non-timed.

Aid stations: liquids and solids at key points + finish.

Drop bag: available 08:00–13:00 at Cascais Bay.
