Which race should you choose next? Ideas for every level and goal

Choosing your next race isn’t always easy. With trail running, endurance challenges, hybrid competitions and outdoor events growing across Portugal, there are now more options than ever.

Whether you’re looking to try something new, improve your trail experience or test your limits in longer formats, here are some suggestions based on different athlete goals. All of these races currently have registrations available through RaceFinder.

If you want to try something different

Some events offer formats that go beyond traditional road or trail races and create a completely new experience.

Vortex (Portimão)

24h de P (Santa Maria da Feira)
One of Portugal’s reference endurance races, offering multiple time-based formats such as 24h, 12h and shorter options. Ideal for runners exploring long-distance strategies and pacing.

Douro Montemuro Ultra Trilhos (Cinfães)
A demanding ultra trail set in the Montemuro mountain region, combining elevation, technical terrain and stunning scenery. A strong goal race for experienced trail runners.

IV Trail Praia Mag8 (Sintra)
