Event summary

The 5th Edition of the Grande Descida de Castelo Bode is a multi-stage open water swimming competition held on June 5-7, 2026, in Portugal. The event consists of six stages covering a total distance of approximately 50 km along the Castelo de Bode reservoir.

Participants can compete in one or multiple stages, or as part of a relay team of two swimmers. The race is open to swimmers aged 14 and older who hold a license from the Portuguese Swimming Federation or equivalent recognized by FINA. Each stage takes place at different river beach locations across the municipalities of Figueiró dos Vinhos, Vila de Rei, Ferreira do Zêzere, and Abrantes.

The event offers a competitive atmosphere with individual and relay classifications, monetary prizes for top finishers in each stage and overall, and commemorative awards for all participants. Support boats accompany swimmers for safety, and the race embraces the scenic natural water landscapes of the Castelo de Bode reservoir.

    The ZEUS Open Water Grand Prix 2026 is a national and international open water swimming event taking place on June 10, 2026, at Praia Fluvial do Alqueidão (River Zêzere), Tomar, Portugal.

    Organized by Sociedade Filarmónica Gualdim Pais (SFGP), the event offers multiple race distances designed for swimmers of different ages and performance levels.

    Participants can compete in the following open water distances: 500 m, 1,500 m, 1,500 m (wetsuit category), 3,000 m, and 25 km ultramarathon.

    The 25 km race connects Dornes (Ferreira do Zêzere) to Praia Fluvial do Alqueidão (Tomar), while the remaining distances are held in circuit format at Praia Fluvial do Alqueidão.

    The event is open to national and international swimmers of both genders, starting from 10 years of age (depending on distance).

    Oeiras Open Water Race 2026

    The Oeiras Open Water Race 2026 is an open water swimming competition taking place on May 30, 2026, at Praia de Caxias in Oeiras, Portugal. The event offers three distances: 750 meters, 1,500 meters, and 3,000 meters, with an option to compete in all three distances through a special pack.

    Participation is open to individuals and teams aged 15 and above. The race features staggered starts with groups of eight swimmers every 10 seconds, and mandatory use of a swim cap and timing chip provided by the organization. There is also a children’s race integrated into the Jogos de Oeiras.
