Event summary
The XII Meia Maratona Juventude Ilha Verde takes place on April 12, 2026, in Ponta Delgada, on São Miguel Island in the Azores, with start and finish at the historic Portas da Cidade. Organized by Clube Desportivo e Cultural Juventude Ilha Verde with institutional support from the Municipality of Ponta Delgada, the Parish Council and the Athletics Association of São Miguel, the event brings together several road running competitions for different age groups and participation levels.
The program includes the official Half Marathon (21.097 km), the Mini Marathon (10 km), a 5.25 km race, a 5.25 km walk and a youth race (Mini Campeões – 1.609 km). The Half Marathon is run on a certified urban road course through the main avenues of Ponta Delgada. The event also hosts the AASM Half Marathon Championship and the VIRTUS World Half Marathon Championships, welcoming both national and international athletes.
