The 1st Montinhos dos Pegos Running and Walking event is scheduled for October 18, 2026, at the Montinhos dos Pegos Football Field in Coruche. This event features a 10 km road race and a 5 km walk, open to participants aged 16 and older for the race, and 8 and older for the walk with a guardian’s responsibility term.<\/p>\n

The race includes multiple age categories from juniors to veterans and offers individual and team prizes. The walk is non-competitive and all walkers receive a souvenir. The event promotes a healthy lifestyle and community engagement in the region known as the World Capital of Cork.<\/p>\n
