The Backyard Ultra Fronteiros de Chaves is an ultra running event taking place on June 20, 2026, at the Infantry Regiment No. 19 Military Quarter in Chaves, Vila Real, Portugal. The race features a unique format where participants run a 6.706 km loop every hour, aiming to complete as many loops as possible within the time limit.<\/p>\n

In addition to the main Backyard Ultra, there are three parallel variants for shorter distances: 1 loop (6.706 km), 3 loops (20.118 km), and 6 loops (40.236 km). The event is open to participants aged 18 and over for the main ultra, with younger age categories allowed for shorter variants, and is part of the 2026 national ranking and the global Backyard Ultra circuit.<\/p>\n

The course is marked with tapes and night signage, and the event is organized by Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Lobos do Brunheiro de Chaves with support from the military regiment and local municipality.
